History of Piper ClassicsIn January of 1977 Dave and Mary Lee Chittick established Piper Second Hand, a business of buying and selling used furniture, antiques and collectibles. The original two-story masonry building, located in Pipersville, Pa, served the needs of the store for many years. A major turning point came in the early 1980's when reproduction furniture was introduced. It quickly became apparent that our customers were interested in an authentic, historic, country style of decorating in their homes. The decision was made to concentrate entirely on reproduction furniture, gifts and country style decorative accessories. The name of the business was changed to Piper Classics. As the business grew, multiple additions were added to the building and extensive renovations were made. The store now offers 6 large showrooms filled with country, primitive and casual home decor. In 2003, as online shopping was becoming more popular and convenient for many consumers, we launched our first ecommerce website. We are now pleased to say that we have many happy customers across the country and even in different parts of the world. Customers were very happy with our website, but they often asked for a catalog. In 2005 we produced the first Piper Classics catalog. We currently produce one main catalog every year with supplemental catalogs for the Fall and Christmas season. Our website currently offers over 3,000 items.
