Ribbon and lace vendors were common in the streets of London around the warehouses that sold fabrics to their well-to-do patrons. the vendors carried an assortment of ribbons, laces and trims that represented the colors and fashions of the season.

Joyce Byers started making a unique collection of handcrafted figures in the late 1960’s that has become know as Byers’ Choice Carolers.
